Painter and muralist, Einar C. Petersen was born in Copenhagen, Denmark on October 17, 1885. Petersen served an apprenticeship in his native city and, on a scholarship from the Danish Government, studied art for several years in Paris, Rome, and Munich while working as a decorator. He immigrated to America in 1912 and worked in Nebraska, Oregon, and Washington before settling in Los Angeles in 1916. He died there on December 6, 1986.

Member: California Art Club; Painters and Sculptors of Los Angeles.

Exhibited: Architect's Building (LA), 1929; Scandanavian American Art Society (LA), 1939.

Murals: University Club, Hotel Rosslyn, and Roos Brothers Cafeteria, all in Los Angeles; First National Bank, El Paso, TX; Honolulu City Hall, HI.
