Arthur Irwin Riley
(1911-1998)


Arthur Irwin Riley was born in Boston, Massachusettes on September 14, 1911. Riley settled in Los Angeles in the 1930s. He was a pupil of Barse Miller. He painted many scenes of Los Angeles and Monterey, where he had a second home. From 1938-66 he painted backgrounds for Disney Studios. Riley died in Monterey, California on December 28, 1998.
